This is a matter of opinion, but I like the way this looks. Doesn't have the obnoxious lights and fancy LCD screens that just aren't that appealing to me in a car radio. This radio has a slight red light around the volume knob, and I like the clean look of the white LCD display on the black background. The front-facing auxiliary input makes connecting an iPod / phone / whatever device with an audio out jack very easy (The required cable, a 3.5mm M/M stereo cable, isn't included, but these are widely and cheaply available both on Amazon and elsewhere). Sound quality is very good (on par with CD's and much better than any fm transmitter or cassette adapter). I've only used the CD player once and while the sound was good, I don't see myself using it very often. The locations of the buttons is nice, and my only... Nice and powerful! Super clear! Great FM reception! No tin sounds like the expensive Sony's had, plus much better FM reception than any Sony I tried and more power than any Sony I tried. It looks great in my car. Was very easy to install. Has plenty of power, enough to slam some great bass from my 6 x 9 speakers. Has easy to use controls and doesn't run my car battery down. Highly recommended! Fast shipping too! Don't waste your hard earned money on a $200 or more Sony when this unit is MUCH better for a fraction of the price! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful ![]() By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pioneer DEH-12E In-Dash CD Receiver (Electronics) This unit is low cost but good quality. I was impressed by the audio presets that came with it, which all sounded noticeably different from each other. For instance, my dash speakers were tinny as always on the FLAT setting, but changing that to POWERFUL made them sound decent. You're bound to find one that sounds good to you, and then can customize with the 3-band EQ. If you use Pioneer speakers, supposedly they'll be matched to this receiver and should sound really awesome. I ordered a couple Pioneer speakers but they haven't arrived yet.Physical installation is straightforward. The wiring took longer since I had to figure out which stock wires were which. Used a voltmeter to find the 12V constant and ignition sources, and a small battery to induce a brief crackle in the respective speakers. Made a detachable wiring adapter by pulling the socket from my old radio and soldering on the wire ends of the Pioneer wiring harness. The ground wire MUST connect directly to the... Read more |
