I hooked this up in a mazda 3. This is hooked up to a Pioneer w308D4 whose handling is 400w rms at 2ohm and matches perfectly with this Pioneer 9500 amp which is also rated at 400w rms at 2ohms. I keep the volume between 6 and 10 out of 30 so I can keep my hearing and my trunk. This setup is so powerful. The Pros: small size, light weight, current miser, crisp sound. Cons: runs a little warm in an a/c car, cannot stack with other pioneer amps, connectors are unprotected by a shield.

I have this Amp pushing two Polk DB1040 SVC subs. The Subs are 4 ohms wired in parallel to two ohms. They are rated at 240 rms each and this amp does the job. It is pretty small and light weight but don't let that fool you. It is mounted behind my passenger seat and does not get hot. I ran 8 gauge wire for power and ground and am using the stereo's built in cross-over instead of the amps. I wish the screw holes were not slotted and made of thin plastic. Just try not to over tighten the screws as it could break. I don't notice any difference in sound from hot to cold and have no doubts this amp will provide years of service if installed correctly.

Purchased this amp to replace a 600w Dual amp and it was a bad idea... Looked at the Pioneer thinking its not the top of the line but should work better than my current amp.. I was wrong.. Had it hooked up to 2 Dual 12" and it would turn off after 1/2 volume.. Called Pioneer and they said it was the speakers so i purchased a set of Kicker 12" but it did the same thing.. Mad about the performance of this amp I borrowed a kicker amp from a friend and it worked fine.. Not being able to keep his amp I purchased a Kenwood amp and the system is working 100%.. I have lost my faith in pioneer amp and would no longer purchase another.. May you have better luck..
