The sound from these speakers is decent. I bought them with a Pioneer Head Reciever too in order to get the best sound. The bass is fine at low volumes, but the mids and highs are nice. The problem is, if you turn the volume up, you get this distorted kind of gargle coming from them. Kind of disappointing since everyone say it is loud. Also, CD play a louder than AUX. They were decent for the price, but at times they make me wish I had my old set back which included only 2 working speakers and 2 blown out ones. Might be good support in a large system, but don't expect volume or much bass.

Bought these speakers from Best Buy ($44) to replace the stock rear speakers in my '95 Audi Cabriolet, less than 3 weeks later they blew. My stereo is a Sony GT56UI with only 52 watts per channel so I don't know how that was able to blow speakers rated at 300 watts max. While they sounded pretty good while they lasted, they were NO comparision with the Hertz speakers installed in the front. The installer had a previous year pair of Hertz speakers and he gave me a good deal on em ($80) as I hadn't planned of replacing the front speakers. The Pioneer were ok but the Hertz are amazing and I had no idea there could that much difference. Of course if they didn't blow, I would rate them higher. Best Buy was cool and replaced the 1347's with Polk DXi 525 and I'll see how they work out.
