Power (Electronics) I purchased a set of these to go along with a set of Pioneer TS-G1643R 6.5" for front door speakers. For the money, they actually sound very nice. Straight out of the box, they actually don't sound quite as good as a 12-year old pair of Boston Acoustics 5.25's that I previously had installed, removed and reinstalled in 3 different vehicles. However, after some fine tuning with the deck, I was able to pull some very good sound out of these. Although these speakers are technically 6x8", they are made to fit in most 5x7" openings, such as in our 1999 Ford Escort.Being only 2-way speakers, the highs sound decent but aren't overly superior, mid's are rather strong and bass is a little more disappointing than expected. However, adding a subwoofer to the vehicle completely negates any shortcomings on this behalf. Power handling is commendable, as very subtle distortion is noted at reasonably high volumes. Power (Electronics) i was looking for some good speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 2001 mustang. the stock speakers where always being over driven due to the after market stereo. they sounded really terrible so i decided that id spend some money and get something good. i found these speakers and was very impressed due to the frequency response(how high itll play and how low itll play) it was 30Hz-28kHz which will basicly play extremely low bass. i also was impressed by the price. so i bought them. when i got them in the mail which took about 3 days, i was a lil dissapointed in the packageing because of the styrafoam(im bad at spelling) got into the speakers and it was a pain to get it out, and i didnt want it to mess with the sound, thats why i gave these speakers 4 stars instead of 5. anyway, wen i installed these speakers, i was literally blown away by the amazing sound they put out. the bass was nice and punchy, but i had to turn the volume way up to get any bass outta these (although, my... I have been buying the cheap line of Pioneer speakers to replace my stock speakers in all of my vehicles for many years now and they never disappoint. I used to buy whatever was the cheapest brand at the time just to get rid of my stock speakers. But since I got my first cheap set of pioneers, I just always buy the cheapest pioneers now. They sound GREAT, and I have never had them distort or get nasty, and I have cranked it up quite a bit (I don't have it cranked up ALL the time like some people though), and they always surprise me with a little bit of good bass for any size I've gotten. I don't know how they'd hold up on an amplified system, but if you're just looking to replace your factory speakers these will not disappoint!! |
