This speaker grill is not the one to go with the sharp protruding objects in the trunk, there is no mesh or anything like that. It's simply a very sturdy guard with showmanship at best; more like a blocking/protective attachment. Bazooka(or box) it doesn't matter, my ten inch bazooka looks like a work of art right now.

It was made to work with Pioneer subwoofers and finishes off the subwoofer nicely. I bought it to protect my sub from loose items that may hit in my trunk, but as it's made of plastic, I'm not sure it would offer much protection against impacts. It would have been nice if it was lower profile though as it sticks out from the wall a good 2".
